Mcqueen is one of my all time favourite designers and his work has inspired me since my first year studying fashion design. Mcqueen is a one of a kind designer who pushed the boundaries with every collection he made. His death in 2010 shocked the fashion world and left a company which was more than about fashion but craftsmanship and he always knew how to put on a highly creative show. When i watched Mcqueen and I it showed how much of an impact he had on the design world and how he made it as a designer coming from a working background. Isabella Blow was a English magazine editor and international fashion icon whos interest in Mcqueen's work helped him to get the recognition and helped him launch the Mcqueen brand. In this documentary it showed how resentful Mcqueen was to the presses opinion on isabella making Mcqueen. Mcqueen worked for Saville Row for many years and this is how he became the exquisite tailor he was before his death. He created outstanding clothes which pushed the boundaries like no other designer.
James dean-The Mutant king by David Dalton
Book Review
After reading this book about the life of James Dean i was obsessed with his films and his general life story. He became more famous after his death and even became a fashion icon for young teenagers. It gives you an insight into his acting career, love life, problems he had with his father, mood swings, loves and his battle with depression. After his death teenagers saw him as a fashion icon and even today people are copying his jeans and white t shirt style.
Life imitated art with James Dean carrying that brazen image into his everyday existence.
Dean’s legacy, however, far outlives his short time on Earth for one simple reason: He embodied the essence of cool. He was one of the first male actors who garnered as much attention from women as he did from men.

Black swan
After going to see Black swan i was amazed at how beautiful the costumes were and the amazing construction. The designer behind these creations is Rodarte who has become one of my favourite designers of the moment. I was blown away by this film and the way they portray obession and determination. The oscar winning film will stay with me for a long time.
